Wind chimes: the sound of walnuts
How relaxing it is to be in the open air listening to wind chimes…
If you want to make one to hang on your terrace or in your garden, you just need to follow a few simple steps.
Wind chimes are used in Feng Shui to cure negative energy. They can be made from a variety of materials and objects, depending on where they are going to be placed and the sound you want to produce.
Here are some items that you will need to make a very simple one:
- a stick or bamboo cane
- walnuts
- string
- hot glue (or super glue)
- beads, bells, shells, etc.
METHOD
Start by splitting the walnuts in half and emptying the shells.
Cut lots of pieces of string measuring about 30 cm in length (or whatever length you prefer)
Then, start by threading the beads, alternating with the walnuts and bells.
To keep the beads in place, just tie a knot in the string, while the walnuts need to be fixed by attaching the two halves with glue, leaving the string between the two shells.
Lastly, tie one end of the string to the stick and repeat for all the other pieces of string you prepared.
And… there you have it! Now, all you have to do is hang your wind chime in a quiet corner of your garden and wait for the wind to start playing your masterpiece!
