Miniature snow houses
Are you decorating your house for Christmas? Do you want a slightly different idea to fill a corner of your nativity scene? Let’s build snow-covered houses with walnuts together!
It is very easy to do and you don’t need to buy any particular materials!
All you need are:
- Walnuts
- Cardboard
- White tempera paint
- Black medium-fine marker
- Quick-setting glue
The process is very simple: draw small doors and windows on the walnuts with the white tempera, then finish the edges with the black marker when the tempera has dried.
Then draw rectangles on the cardboard, cut them out and fold them in half to form the roofs of the houses. With the brush (or with a sponge or fingers) colour the top of the roofs white and glue them on the nuts. For the base, you can cut out the most irregular shapes you wish in the cardboard and colour them white as you did for the roofs.
Then simply assemble everything with glue and position the houses how you would like them.
They will look pretty in the nativity scene, on a shelf or on a sideboard, with some Christmas lights around, to recreate that typical snowy village effect of fairy tales!
